Located on the south bank of the Kootenai River and Highway 37, Riverfront Park’s most notable feature is the Fred Brown log pavilion built by local Amish and community volunteers.
Two boat ramps provide river access for fishing and recreation. A smaller pavilion honors loved ones lost to asbestos- related diseases. Both pavilions offer great views of both the Kootenai River and the Cabinet Mountains.
The park is located on the site of W.R. Grace’s former export operations and is part of the larger Environmental Protection Agency superfund cleanup. It has been cleaned of asbestos contamination left behind following the plant closure and demolition and is presently under construction by the EPA and the City to create a public park with the entire available 13 acres.
The Fred Brown pavilion can be reserved for special events such as weddings.
