Streets Meeting 10/17/18 City Hall

1. Discussion of Alley between Larch and Spruce Adjacent to Montana Ave. Mr. Beach presented maps, plots, and pictures of the area stated according to records it is slated as an alley but is currently used by residence as private access and storage. Mr. Zimmerman gave some history on the area stating when the Johnston’s acres project was done spruce was extended and that that alley had not been developed. Mr. Beach presented information on utilities and only above ground exist.
Later in the meeting the committee went to the site and did a visual inspection returned and Ms. Smith made a motion to contact the home owners to advise them that the alley will be slated to be developed into a functioning alley. Mr. Zimmerman second 3/3 voted yes
2. Discussion of Larch Street within Big Sky Lumber Property
Mr. Beach presented maps, plots, easements and pictures of the area and presented that according to records within the boundaries of the now Big Sky Lumber property is a section of Larch Street that has never been developed. Mr. Brooks of Big Sky Lumber had a approached the council about this matter and would like the Street removed so he can secure his property.
The committee reviewed this and then went on site and did a visual inspection and came to a consensus to present to council the removal of Larch Street within Big Sky Lumber with the condition that Big Sky Lumber grants easements to the City of Libby for underground utilities. Motion was made by Mr. Zimmerman, Second Ms. Smith 3/3 vote yes.
